The kobold king is dead — long live all those others, because they’re walking exp bubbles, and nice to pass the time between spawns. Taste delicious, too.
Ayba and I were fishing at the Newport docks and waiting for the boat, because we planned to go to Erudin and then to the Warrens to see if there are any groups. That’s when Ackin appeared on OOC, asking for people level 17 – 19 for King’s Room. Coincidence? Perhaps. I asked whether they could use an 18 ranger and 19 druid, and luck was on our side, because they could!
We camouflaged and ran past all those ignorant smelly kobolds into King’s Room. It was a bit of an adrenalin rush, I had never been down there before but somehow managed to find the room on the first try. Ranger instincts, I’m sure. Even tiny rangers have those.
Down there Ackin invited us and so Ackin, Ayba, Pankura, Zantetsu and Oric skinned kobolds by the dozen for at least an hour. The king thought he’d better check on his royal subordinates and popped as well. He was decapitated and his crown and idol were shared among those with some luck at dice rolls (congrats on the crown, Ayba!).
Oh, and Oric and Ayba both made it from 18/19 to 20. Whee! We left our camp a bit later without a second try at the king — it was getting late. Ackin and group all waited for us when we were going linkdead on the way out, which is a very nice gesture. Thanks a lot!
It was great to be in an efficient group tonight (pally, shammy, double druid and ranger) and this really felt like “proper” SoD. Every evening should be like this. I can’t wait to get in on the big raids, though 🙂
See you next time!
